Global Congress

The Global Congress is the UNESCO Chair on Health, Race and Human Rights' flagship international forum and a cornerstone of its mission to advance interdisciplinary research, global collaboration, and policy innovation. Established as a recurring international gathering, the Congress convenes scholars, judges, policymakers, practitioners, Indigenous knowledge holders, civil society leaders, students, and other experts from around the world to address the most pressing challenges at the intersection of health, race, and human rights. More than a traditional academic conference, the Congress serves as a knowledge-to-action platform that fosters interdisciplinary dialogue, strengthens international partnerships, and generates practical recommendations to inform law, public policy, and institutional reform. Through these global convenings, the Chair seeks to advance innovative, evidence-based, and justice-oriented responses to complex global challenges while building a sustainable international network committed to health equity, racial justice, and human rights.

The inaugural UNESCO Global Congress on Health, Race and Human Rights will take place in 2027, bringing together leading scholars, practitioners, policymakers, judges, Indigenous knowledge holders, civil society leaders, advocates, and students from across the globe.
